These lovely typeface illustrations, designed by POP and Pär Ågren, remind me a little bit (in a much smaller scale) of the fantastic typographic illustrations that Cameron Mall designed, such as the Coliseum and Salt Like Temple typographic posters, a few years back. Cameron’s work is an altogether different league when it comes to sheer scale and intricacy, but I still very much like the work by POP and Pär Ågren.
Most of you know I do have quite the soft-spot for Helvetica, so it’s no coincidence that the implementation of modern high-rise architecture in the Helvetica poster, gets my vote. The Garamond poster comes in 2nd, with Futura coming 3rd.

Typographic Prints for Sale

These 3 typographic illustrations: Garamond, Futura and Helvetica, are sold in poster format from Nordic Design Collective, for €55.15 per print. Each print measures 50x70cm (18×28″), and do not come with a frame.

A Signed Contract

Although I don’t have much faith in contracts I do use this logo proposal as a form of signed contract from the client. The idea is that once I have sent off the proposal, they them sign the last page and send this back to me: thus signalling their acceptance of my ToC’s, and to proceed with the project.

Please feel free to download, use and change/adapt this logo proposal template as you see fit. The download package contains a PDF and an editable Indesign file.
Hopefully goes without saying that the first thing you’ll want to remove and change, is: my logo, my personal details, bank account information, and anywhere else where I have used my full name: Graham Smith and/or The Logo Smith. Probably wise to do a Search & Replace for those last two names.

Client Logo Sheet

I have settled on this style of Client Logo Sheet for providing, and presenting, my own clients with the finished logo files. Each one has a few bits of useful information, such as: the colour mode used in Illustrator, either RGB or CMYK and list of the actual colours used in the logo.
I’ve locked all the elements other than the logo itself, so it’s easy for a client to select and copy without picking up surrounding elements etc. On my example I have 4 different colour variations, but you could adjust it to show just one colour, or even add more rows/columns depending on how many colour versions are to be used. Probably best not to cram say 6 different logos on one sheet, as part of this logo sheet is to present the logo in a nice clear way.
The Client Logo Sheets are not replacing the more detailed Logo Guidelines/Logo Specification sheets as not all clients opt to have these developed, but all clients will get the Client Logo Sheet at the end of each project.
Feel free to use the Master Client Logo Sheet Template as is, or change the layout/contents as you see fit (obviously remove all instance of my name and details). Hope you find it useful.

How To Use

I’m providing the original Adobe Illustrator files for you, so you can get your collective hands dirty with all the text, imagery, pages and artboard’s, etc.

Although I have kept Kerr Recruitments logo in place, please bear in mind that this is a legitimate client logo design, and as such is not there for you to use, commercially, in any way.

You will likely need to change these files quite a lot. The guidelines have been designed in such a way that are quite specific to the way the Kerr Recruitment logo has itself been designed, from the amount of colours used and thus detailed, the French translation of the logo, the various logo lock-ups, etc.

However, you should still be able to use quite a chunk, or at least get a real good idea of how and what to use, spec, explain in your own version of the guidelines.

The addition of the solid colour leader page, with the section titles, looks pretty nice I think, and helps make the guidelines look more like an actual booklet.

Blogger Sans Font was initially designed as the custom typeface for the FirstSiteGuide’s website: The Beginner’s Guide to Successful Blogging, primarily used for headings.

Choi Xoo Ang – Unique Sculptural Art

I love Choi Xoo Ang human emotion art. Choi Xoo Ang is an emerging mixed media artist based out of Seoul, South Korea who creates figurative sculptures out of clay and resin that examines human rights, society’s pathological state, and sex and gender politics among other themes. The distorcion of the reality is something amazing in his work where you can feel a little of the real in the whole fantasy. Without boundries he creates pieces that you can’t be indifferent or even shoked. He has been awarded by several prizes being one of them the Artists of Tomorrow 2010, Sungkok Museum Award, Seoul, Korea.
